Reliability is not simply about getting more parcels out of the depot. It is the ability to deliver consistently, communicate clearly when conditions change and recover quickly when disruption occurs. That requires practical processes, accurate data and a delivery partner with enough capacity to support demand.

Define courier reliability before trying to improve it

Many businesses measure delivery performance only through on-time delivery percentage. This matters, but it does not provide the whole picture. A parcel that arrives on time but is damaged, delivered to the wrong address or cannot be traced creates a service failure just as quickly.

A useful reliability standard should cover collection punctuality, delivery within the promised window, successful first-time delivery, parcel condition, accurate tracking, proof of delivery and the speed of exception handling.
